Mary Ellen Ifft, 83, Fairbury, died at 10:20 pm Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at the Apostolic Christian Church, Fairbury with ministers of the church officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 pm Monday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and 9:00 to 9:45 am Tuesday at the church. The family suggests memorials be given to the Mary Ellen Ifft memorial fund. Mrs. Ifft was born April 23, 1934 in Gladstone, Oregon the daughter of Oscar and Mary Ellen Kuenzi. She married Gilbert Leon Ifft on January 14, 1956 in Pontiac, IL. He preceded her in death on August 26, 1997. Survivors include 3 sons, Leon D. (Lois) Ifft, Kailua, HI; Darrell W. (Pamela) Ifft, Fairbury; Loren J. Ifft, Kailua, HI; 1 daughter, Suzanne K. (David) Provance, Rockton, IL; 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 1 brother, Benjamin (Caroline) Bolliger, Salem, Oregon. She is preceded in death by a son, Daniel and 4 brothers. Mrs. Ifft was a member of the Fairbury Apostolic Christian Church. She had worked at the Silverton Hospital and the bean fields of Silverton, Oregon. Most recently she had worked at Fairbury Fastener.

Ruth E. Grosshans, 87, Fairbury, died at 11:57 am Sunday, November 26, 2017 at Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.
A private service will be held Wednesday, November 29, 2017 with the ministers of the German Apostolic Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in East Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is assisting with arrangements. Ruth was born March 22, 1930 in Fairbury the daughter of Fred and Viola Hanni Grosshans. Surviving is a brother, David (Barbara) Grosshans, Fairbury. She is preceded in death by 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Ruth was the oldest of 6 children who lost their mother at a young age. She took on the role of managing the household at the age of 14. She was a very loving and giving person who would do anything for anybody. She was a member of the German Apostolic Christian Church. The family would like to thank Fairview Haven Retirement Community for their excellent care of Ruth the past 4 ½ years. Fairbury – Louise Allen, 87, of Fairbury, passed away at 7:21pm, November 24, 2017, at Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury. Her funeral will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, December 2, 2017, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury. Pastor Tom Krieger will be officiating. Cremation will be accorded following the services with burial at a later date. Visitation will be held from 4-7:00pm, Friday, December 1, 2017, at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and one hour prior to the services on Saturday at the church. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or South Eastern Livingston County Ambulance Service. Louise was born January 4, 1930, in Ford County, the daughter of Ralph and Ruth Decker Hahn. She married Lowell Allen on October 10, 1975. He survives. Also surviving are her children, Beverly (Bob) Pearce of Freeland, WA and Janet Brady of Dwight; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and son-in-law, Brad Brady. Louise was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury. Where she was a faithful servant. She was a secretary at Fairbury Cable Company for several years. Louise’s welcoming and fun-loving demeanor will be deeply missed by so many. She was much loved and loved much. She will be sorely missed by her family. The final numbers have been tallied for the 2017 Harvest of Sharing Benefit. We are blessed and thankful to report that the benefit brought in $130,000! Forrest – Lois Clarene Stehle, 87, of Forrest, passed away at 5:07am, November 2, 2017, at Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury. Her funeral will be held at 11:00am, Monday, November 6, 2017, at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury. Burial will be in Forrest Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-5:00pm, Sunday, November 5, 2017 also at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family or donor’s choice of charity. Lois was born December 8, 1929, in Cullom the daughter of Lloyd and Velma Stults Blackmore. She married Ernest Joseph Stehle on December 10, 1947. He died February 17, 2005. Surviving are her daughter, Phyllis (Jim) Bellot of Forrest; son Joe Stehle of Chatsworth; daughter-in-law, Donna Stehle of Pontiac; sister Illa Mae Paternoster of Bloomington; six grandchildren, Brian (Cindy) Bellot, Jared Bellot, Sarah Bellot, Jeff Stehle, Steven (Misty) Stehle, Connie Friedman; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Lloyd Stehle, and grandson, Cory Bellot. Lois worked for 20 years Zimmerman True Value Hardware, six years for Hammer True Value and Ben Franklin. She also worked three years for Jamie’s Grocery Store, Forrest. |
