A loss in the family ... Elmer Stoller

Elmer E. Stoller, 93, Forrest, the last grandchild of Gilgian and Elizabeth Stoller died at 11:30 am Monday, July 30, 2018 at Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.
His funeral will be at 10:00 am Friday, August 3, 2018 at the Apostolic Christian Faith Church, Roberts with ministers of the church officiating.  Burial will be in the North Apostolic Christian Cemetery, Forrest.
Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00pm Thursday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and 9:00 to 9:45 am Friday at the church.  The family suggests memorials be given to the Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.
Mr. Stoller was born June 14, 1925 in Wing, IL the son of Benjamin and Lydia Nussbaum Stoller.  He married Rosetta Gerber on November 27, 1949 in Rockville, CT.  She survives.
Other survivors include their children, Greg (Jill) Stoller, Forrest, John (Patricia) Stoller, Leo, IN, Peggy (Terry) Young, Keizer, OR, Stanley (Debora) Stoller, Secor, Randall (Ronda) Stoller, Fairbury, twenty-two grandchildren, eighty-one great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by four brothers, three sisters, one granddaughter and one great grandson.
Mr. Stoller was a lifelong dairy farmer.  He served on Fairview Haven Retirement Community’s board of directors for fourteen years and was a member of the Apostolic Christian Faith Church, Roberts.

A loss in the family ... Mabel Hines

Mabel Frances Hines, 100, of Fairbury died at 9:30 pm Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.

Her funeral service will be at 11am, Friday, July 27, 2018 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury. Visitation will be 9-11am also at the memorial home in Fairbury on Friday.  Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to the Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.

Mrs. Hines was born May 15, 1918 in Greenbrier, MO, the daughter of Ned and Lillie (Hovis) Wagner.  She married Eugene Hines on December 31, 1939 in Lebanon, IN.  Her husband preceded her in death June 7, 2008. Her parents and two brothers, Glenn Wagner and Dale Wagner also preceded her in death.

Survivors include one daughter, Janice (Harvey) Schieler, Fairbury; one sister, Marilyn Wagner, Brookfield, WI; four grandchildren, Stephanie (Dave) Wieland, Eric (Nancy) Schieler, Keith (Jodi) Schieler, Suzanne (Nate) Wieland, fifteen great-grandchildren, Austin (Angie) Schieler, Abbey (Clayton) Walder, Erin (Jesse) Rieker, Bryce Wieland, Jarod Schieler, Evan (Krista) Wieland, Paige Schieler, Sydney Wieland, Lauren Schieler, Autumn (Ethan) Sperry, Conner Wieland, Noel Schieler, Quinn Schieler, Kyle Schieler, Aiden Wieland and one great-great-grandson, Jesse Sperry.

Mabel was a 1936 graduate of Fairbury Twp. High School. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Fairbury, Merrymaker’s Club of Fairbury, and belonged to the Livingston County Home Extension. She, along with her husband Gene, enjoyed motorcycle trips and events through the years. They loved to travel and spent many winters in the southern states. Mabel was a beautiful seamstress.

The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to Fairview Haven Retirement Community and to Dr. Sam Steffen for the loving care given to our mother and grandmother.

Doris Evelyn Kachelmuss, 89, Fairbury, died at 7:08 pm Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.

Her funeral will be 10:00 am Saturday, July 21, 2018 at the Apostolic Christian Church, Forrest with the ministers of the church officiating.  Burial will be in the South Apostolic Christian Cemetery, Fairbury.

Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 pm Friday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and 9:00 to 9:45 am Saturday at the church.  The family suggests memorials be given to Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury or the charity of the donor’s choice.

Doris was born April 3, 1929 in Strawn, IL the daughter of Samuel and Louise Koehl Zimmerman.  She married Raymond Steffen on August 22, 1948 in Pontiac.  He preceded her in death on November 7, 1993.   She then married Clarence Kachelmuss on June 23, 1999 in Forrest.  He preceded her in death on December 30, 2000.

Survivors include two daughters, Connie (Norm) Hoerr, Eureka, LaRae (Pete) Walter, Fairbury, three step daughters, Carol Robbins, Nancy Martin and Shirley (Ernie) Herman, all of Denton, Texas, one step son, James (Becky) Kachelmuss, Bloomington, six grandchildren, twelve step grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, twenty-five step great grandchildren and one step great grandchild.

She is preceded in death by a brother, Lester Zimmerman.

Doris was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church, Forrest.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and caregiver who will be deeply missed.
