Ruth E. Grosshans, 87, Fairbury, died at 11:57 am Sunday, November 26, 2017 at Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.
A private service will be held Wednesday, November 29, 2017 with the ministers of the German Apostolic Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in East Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is assisting with arrangements. Ruth was born March 22, 1930 in Fairbury the daughter of Fred and Viola Hanni Grosshans. Surviving is a brother, David (Barbara) Grosshans, Fairbury. She is preceded in death by 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Ruth was the oldest of 6 children who lost their mother at a young age. She took on the role of managing the household at the age of 14. She was a very loving and giving person who would do anything for anybody. She was a member of the German Apostolic Christian Church. The family would like to thank Fairview Haven Retirement Community for their excellent care of Ruth the past 4 ½ years.
