A loss in the family ... Velma Schladenhauffen

Velma M. Schladenhauffen, 91, Fairbury and formerly of Forrest, died at 2:10 pm Monday, July 29, 2019 at Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.
Her funeral will be 10:00 am Monday, August 5, 2019 at the Apostolic Christian Church, Forrest with the Ministers of the Church officiating.  Burial will be in the North Apostolic Christian Cemetery, Forrest.
Visitation will be 3:00 to 7:00 pm Sunday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and 9:00 to 9:45 am Monday at the church.  The family suggests memorials be given to Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Forrest Apostolic Christian Church or OSF Hospice.
Mrs. Schladenhauffen was born August 20, 1927 in Wolcott, IN the daughter of Levi and Emma Hirstein Kropf.  She married Eugene Schladenhauffen on May 26, 1951.  He died on October 3, 2001.
Survivors include five children, Kathy (Garry) Knauer, Fairbury, Karen (Rick) Bauman, Pontiac, Keith (Gail) Schladenhauffen, Fairbury, Kay (Steve) McBride, Forrest, Kara (Brian) Rinkenberger, Towanda, eighteen grandchildren, Jennifer (Brian) Vaughan, Jessica (Zach) Shafer, Chad (Leslie) Baumen, Eric Bauman, Adam (Beth) Bauman, Andy (Rachel) Bauman, Ryan (Heidi) Schladenhauffen, Jenna (Kyle) Daniels, Erin and Jodie Bittner, Katie (Filip) Gagovic, Darrin (Salina) McBride, Ashley (Craig) Noe, Erica McBride, Payton McBride, Ryan McBride, Gaige Rinkenberger, Jaidin Rinkenberger, sixteen great grandchildren, two sisters, Arles Kropf, Gladys (Ed) Widmer, one sister-in-law, Anna Belle Schladenhauffen.
She is preceded in death by a great granddaughter.
Mrs. Schladenhauffen worked at Walton’s Department Store, Fairbury until its closing in 1995.  She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church, Forrest.
