A loss in the family ... Tom Keeley

Fairbury – Thomas H. Keeley Sr., 85 of Fairbury, passed away at 1:55 pm, Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a graveside inurnment with military honors will be 11 am, Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Strawn Cemetery, Strawn. 
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements.
Tom was born July 9, 1932 in Forrest Twp.; the son of Harold and Mabel (Hartman) Keeley.  He married Oleta Scott on September 24, 1954 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Memphis, TN.  She passed away February 10, 2017.
Survivors include two children, Tim (Deb) Keeley of Gibson City; and Barb (Roger Embry) Cook of Fairbury; one sister, Joan (Hansie) Haberkorn of Chatsworth; eight grandchildren, Stacey (Brandon) Heldebrandt, Jason Clearwater, Shawn (Joanie) Clearwater, Justin (Maggie) Ziller, Scott Thomas (Brittany) Ziller, Katie (Scott Travis) Ziller, Anna Keeley, Leah (Justin) Quintana and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one son, Thomas Keeley Jr.
Tom served in the United States Air Force for 23 years.  He loved to travel, and enjoyed fishing with his wife, Oleta.  One of their favorite things was collecting rocks from all the places they had traveled to.  Tom was a proud man; proud of his family, proud of the life he had made, and proud to have served his country.  He loved deeply and will be deeply missed.
