Don was born March 31, 1934 in Decatur, IL the son of Halbert and Harriett Clarke Tate. He married Marilyn Rinkenberger on April 25, 1954 in El Paso. She survives along with one son James (Carrie) Tate of El Paso; a daughter in law Lucy Tate of Poland; four grandchildren, Jonathan, David, Catherine, and Mary Tate, all of El Paso; and one brother Bill Tate of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son Clarke W. Tate.
Don served in the US Army. He lived in the Chicago and western suburbs, where he was a commercial artist. When he retired, he moved to Gridley.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Gridley Cemetery, Gridley, IL with Rev. Curt Wiegand officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Calvert-Johnson & Froelich Memorial Home, El Paso.
Memorials may be made to the Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka, Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.
