A loss in the family ... Barbara Gentes

Chenoa – Barbara Jane Gentes, 88, of Chenoa, passed away at 2:15 pm, Thursday, March 21, 2019, at Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a private family service will be held at a later date. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home Chenoa is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions are directed to American Diabetes Association, El Paso Food Pantry, El Paso or Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.
Barbara was born August 14, 1930 in Carlock; a daughter to Olza and Pearl (Reeves) Fogle.  She married Ronald Gentes on February 19, 1950 at the Carlock Christian Church, Carlock. Her husband, Ronald survives in Fairbury. Her parents preceded her in death.
Other survivors include one son, Tom Gentes of Chenoa; two daughters, Janet Gentes of Laurinburg, NC; Gail Gentes of Prescott, AZ; grandchildren, Katie (Andy) Holland of Charleston, SC; Matt (Dawn Carson) Trier of Kannapolis, NC; and great-grandchildren.
Barbara was a devoted wife, life partner, mother, and grandmother. She was a faithful “Lutheran” and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Chenoa; where she served on the Ladies Aid for many years. She was also a member of the Pike Township Home Extension.  Barbara enjoyed playing golf later in life.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
