What is Serenity Villa?
Serenity Villa is Fairview Haven’s newest residence … an assisted living memory support care home built north and east of the current Fairview Haven community.
Serenity Villa is a household (small house) memory support care home. 20-22 people have the opportunity to reside at Serenity Villa with a dedicated team of memory support caregivers to love and serve them.
As the Fairview Haven team researched the best options for people with dementia, we learned that the household (small house) model is far superior to the traditional nursing home, especially for dementia care. In the past 10 years, we have been studying household and small house concepts. We would be delighted to share this information with you. Households or neighborhoods are the present and future of eldercare.
The "Household" Model
“The household model is defined as: Small groups of people sharing house and home while directing their own daily lives… The household is each person’s home and sanctuary. The physical building is designed to be a true home.”1 In a household, people and caregivers bond as a family. People with dementia thrive in smaller, quieter environments that are more like their own homes.

... Share the Vision
The journey through dementia is a lonely one.
At Fairview Haven, we have long felt the call
to minister to and provide companionship
for this lonely journey. As we carry on the vision
of Fairview Haven’s founders, we believe
that God has called us to provide a haven
—a memory support home— to those in
need in our communities. A memory support home
must have a specialized environment
designed to minimize stress
and confusion for people with dementia.
“The diagnosis envelops you like a dark cloud. You feel helpless and alone. No one is prepared to be handed a diagnosis for which there is no cure. Alzheimer’s robs the patient and family of a future.”
-Wife of a man who developed early-onset Alzheimer’s at age 57
